Terms of use

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Better Deen (“the app”). By using it you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The app

Better Deen helps you practise Islam: prayer times and reminders, the Qur'an, a knowledge assistant, tools and a game. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't guarantee that it will always work without interruption or errors.

Subscription and free trial

  • The app is paid. You can subscribe monthly or yearly through Google Play or the App Store. The price is the one the store shows before you confirm.
  • New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. If you cancel before it ends, you aren't charged.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, in your store account settings. Payment is charged to your store account.
  • Refunds follow the rules of the store you bought from (Google Play or Apple).
  • Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription.

If you can't pay

If you truly can't afford the subscription, you can promise it in the app and use it free for a year, renewable. This is an act of good faith between you and Allah. We may change or end this option in the future; if we do, it won't affect a year already granted.

Religious content

  • Prayer times are calculated from your location and the method you choose. Check them with your local mosque, especially in high latitudes.
  • Ask Deen is an AI assistant: it gives general knowledge with its sources and may make mistakes. It is not a fatwa. For personal rulings and sensitive matters, consult a qualified scholar.
  • Qur'an texts and translations come from recognised sources named in the app. Translations convey meanings and are not the Qur'an itself.

The Arena

The Arena is an optional competition. Play fairly: modifying the app, automating answers or using several accounts to gain an advantage is not allowed and may lead to removal from the rankings and loss of prizes. Player names must be respectful. Prizes are governed by the Arena rules.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app or its services to break the law, harm others, attempt to access other people's data, or overload or interfere with our servers. We may suspend accounts that do.

Your content and ours

Your data is yours; see the privacy policy. The app's design, code and texts written by us belong to Better Deen. Qur'an texts, translations, recitations, sounds and fonts belong to their owners and are used under their licences, which are listed in the app.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect damages, such as a missed prayer because a notification didn't arrive. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. For any question, write to saydencinasfedi@gmail.com.
